Assistant General Counsel
The candidate reporting to the General Counsel, will be primarily responsible for providing legal support to the Firm’s global expert witness and consulting business. Prepare, review and negotiate a wide variety of client engagement agreements, licenses, and other legal commitments on behalf of the Firm and its foreign subsidiaries. Research wide variety of complex legal issues impacting client engagements (e.g. intellectual property rights; licensing; data security requirements; insurance; tax). Respond to litigation-related matters, including advising consultants on litigation requirements (e.g. confidentiality; discovery requirements and assistance) and other compliance-related obligations (e.g. data security) in the context of global expert witness and consulting business, and in preparing documents required to obtain court approval for engagements for clients in bankruptcy proceedings. Assist with the collection of delinquent accounts. Refine templates and legal department procedures to scale and streamline day-to-day contracting processes. Provide direction and mentorship to Legal Assistants. Conduct legal research as necessary on a wide variety of complex legal issues that arise in general business obligations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy laws; real estate; employment law). Identify and address legal risks in corporate practices and policies. Support compliance with corporate formalities, corporate bylaws, relevant statutes, tax and insurance requirements in all jurisdictions in which the Firm does business.
