Counsel
The candidate will provide counsel on health care laws including those on privacy, Medicare, Medicaid and other government programs, fraud and abuse, physician self-referral and anti-kickback laws, and EMTALA. Negotiates, drafts and reviews contracts and other legal documents. Provides counsel on medical staff matters and legal aspects of patient care. Performs legal and factual research necessary to draft and analyze various contracts, policies and other documents to advise internal clients. Provides legal expertise to human resources department regarding employment and worker’s compensation matters. Works cooperatively with **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. attorneys and business leaders. Provides education and training for staff on pertinent legal issues as directed. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have law degree from an ABA accredited law school. Must be a member of the North Carolina Bar or begin the process within 6 months of hire date and be admitted within 1 year. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience advising clients on a broad range of matters. In-house and/or healthcare experience preferred.
