Primary Job Functions:
5 or more years’ experience in environmental permitting, preferably including utility scale energy projects
Broad experience with the Clean Water Act Section 404, Jurisdictional Wetlands, Archaeological Studies, National Historic Preservation Act Section 106, Wildlife Science, NPDES, Endangered Species Act, MBTA, Phase I ESA, County Land Use and other regulatory approvals is preferred
Experience in multidisciplinary permitting and successfully negotiating permits preferred
Experience in the eastern and southeast US preferred
Experience contracting and managing consultants preferred
An understanding of real estate acquisition, contract terms and negotiation skills are a plus
A Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science or related field is required. Master’s degree in environmental management or related field is preferred
Effective verbal communication skills
Effective writing skills and ability to review scientific technical reports
Proven ability to work within a team environment
Proven ability to prioritize tasks and juggle competing deadlines effectively
Self-starter and able to work independently
Effective project management skills
Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs
Proficient in Goggle Earth Pro
Work collaboratively with Project Development Teams to identify suitable sites for development of renewable energy projects that meet Corporate site acquisition goals.
Manage environmental consultants supporting site screening and project permitting activities for assigned projects to obtain responsive products in a timely manner that are delivered within approved budgets and required timelines that support Corporate project development goals.
Work with project developers to prepare and manage project budgets and schedules for assigned projects.
Manage project permitting to obtain permits in a timely manner that contain acceptable conditions that meet project pro forma, financing and construction requirements.
Be the primary point of contact with permitting and regulatory agencies for assigned projects.
Support the Project Development team at public meetings for assigned projects.
Monitor regulatory requirements for solar projects generally and assigned project specifically.
Project a highly skilled and professional image to permitting agencies, elected officials, special interest groups and members of the public.
Extensive travel for assigned projects
