The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) is seeking an individual to develop and execute alumni programs and alumni and development communication in accordance with the initiatives of the UT Martin Offices of Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Development, and Councils associated with Alumni Relations and the University of Tennessee Foundation, including strategic planning, program development fiscal development and marketing strategies.

 

Position Functions/Responsibilities

Develop a variety of programs designed to promote the University in order to expand and enlarge the bases of alumni support – nationally, regionally, and locally. Create and identify new programs that will connect alumni to the University. Assist in reunion and homecoming planning.

Identify, recruit, and create enthusiasm among various regional alumni groups to integrate their involvement in the university. Coordinate all events planned by the above groups, setting goals, outcomes and communicating budget requests to Assistant Vice Chancellor.

Oversee the Young Alumni Council and serve as the staff liaison for the Young Alumni Council. Attend any affiliated CASE conferences.

Oversee the Student Alumni Council, its weekly meetings, student members, and serve as the staff organizer for the annual I Heart UTM week.

Assist in the design of marketing pieces. Develop marketing partnerships with third party vendors for possible alumni office revenue stream and/or alumni discounts. Assist in design and maintenance of alumni presence on various online services (alumni.utm.edu, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) as requested.

Coordinate sending email campaigns through an online community for various alumni functions and news on a consistent basis.

Work with department heads and development staff on young alumni and regional programming, and other programs as requested.

Write articles, as needed, for print alumni publication. Recommend and write articles, columns, etc. for the alumni newsletter.

','!*!Required Qualifications: 

A Bachelor's degree with at least one year of experience in marketing/communications, volunteer management, fundraising, budget preparation and analysis, program development and implementation.

Experience in event planning preferred.

A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances.  In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.
