We are looking for 10 motivated people with experience as an electrician and/or electronic technician to train to work at our solar farms throughout the U.S. We aim to extend offers before Thanksgiving and have the team start in January 2018.
After eight weeks of training with us, you will be able to start your career performing maintenance at a solar power plant, a skill that is in high demand today.
Our ask of you? Be flexible on location during your first two years. While we will do our very best to accommodate your first preference, we may ask you to go to one of our existing locations in need of help before eventually finding a way to reassign you to a place more desirable to you within the first two years. Anytime we ask you to move, we will provide you with a relocation package
Current solar locations: California, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Arizona, Hawaii, Texas
*High School Diploma or GED required *Knowledge of electrical and mechanical fundamentals *Significant I&E, I&C and/or C&I Electrician experience preferred *2 year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman certification and qualifications preferred *Must have a valid state driver's license and a clean driving record
*Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas *Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment *Requires use of wear personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) *May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals *Occasionally requires lifting up to 70 pounds, to perform duties and responsibilities *Work overtime and non-standard working hours, as required *Travel required, as needed
After completing the trainee program, Solar Tech I responsibilities will include:
*Perform assigned technical work in the solar field and assist higher level Solar Techs in the operations and maintenance of the solar power plant *Perform other technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintaining a solar power facility *Participate in required training to progress to Solar Technician Level II, including On-the-Job Training, Self-Study, Computer Based Training, and Classroom Training *Ensure work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements. *Perform work independently and/or in work crews
