Federal Indian Law Faculty

The candidate will be part of a system of faculty contracts progressing to presumptively renewable long-term contracts and are not part of the Law School’s tenure stream. This position requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, admission to a Bar, plus 15 years of relevant experience. Ideal candidates will have exemplary skills in federal Indian law, legal writing, and oral and written communication. The ability to self-manage, multitask, and organize work independently is crucial to success in this position. Duties include teaching courses in Indian law and advanced legal writing. The faculty member will expose students to issues at the trial and appellate courts and federal Indian law. Students also will get practical experience with writing and drafting legal documents. May also be requested to teach courses in environmental law, appellate advocacy, or related legal skills in the J.D. curriculum. This position is a benefits-eligible, fixed-term academic appointment beginning on July 1, 2020.
