Proficiency in various standardized software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat. Database management skills; ability to produce professional quality reports and presentations required. In depth working knowledge of trial procedure for medical expert witness required. Experience in trial preparation for medical expert witness required. Understanding of legal terminology required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) interrelating with attorneys, judges, and paralegals required. Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet crucial deadlines required. Ability to interact professionally and courteously required. High school diploma or equivalent required. 5 years professional legal secretary experience required. Some college preferred. Strong medical/legal research skills preferred. Knowledge of Federal HIPAA guidelines preferred. Background in litigation law preferred. Paralegal Certification or 5 years of experience in paralegal type work required.
