The candidate will perform various tasks related to patent prosecution including all aspects of preparing and prosecuting patent applications; conducting examiner interviews; and arranging for patentability, state-of-the-art, infringement, validity searches, or preparing patentability opinions. An advanced degree (Ph.D.) is optional. Preferred areas of study/work experience include genetics, immunology, cell biology, proteomics, virology, bacteriology, and molecular biology. Strong academic credentials. Registered to practice before the USPTO. Should have 1+ years of substantial recent patent prosecution experience. Must have excellent writing, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with others. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of various biological systems are needed. Should have the ability to work well under pressure, and adjust quickly to changing priorities; exercise sound judgment; manage time, people, and resources in order to meet deadlines; take initiative, manage projects and handle multiple competing priorities. Must have the flexibility and the ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities.
