Schwab Senior Trust and Fiduciary Risk Specialist
The candidate will report to the Director of Examinations/CPC and be a part of a pod of examiners responsible for assessing Governance and Controls, and particularly the Management of Business Lines, under the firm's Large Financial Institution’s Rating Framework. Lead the supervisory assessments of fiduciary and wealth management activities and use knowledge from supervisory reviews to draw sound conclusions and support overall ratings. Define and conduct ongoing risk-focused supervisory activities, including leading routine meetings with management to develop a deep and broad understanding of the bank’s fiduciary and wealth management activities. Collaborate with other risk specialists on the team and the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending (DSML) examiners to develop a comprehensive understanding of operational and financial risks associated Schwab’s fiduciary and wealth management activities. Build and maintain effective working relationships within the team, with peers, within, the firm System, with other regulatory agencies (especially the DSML), and with the supervised banks. Ensure high quality and timely completion of required supervisory work products and perform quality control to ensure compliance with local policies/procedures and System requirements. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field is required. Law degree may also be considered. Should preferably have 3+ years’ experience. Fiduciary-related certifications and advanced training are also strongly preferred. Prior experience as a trust examiner, trust compliance officer, or trust auditor is required.
