SUMMARY: This position is responsible to assist in controlling expenses, provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements, interpret and enforce company policies, maintain non- union program, assist in the determination of manpower needs and makes recommendations. Responsibility also is to prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately, solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up, work with department heads to meet production quality yields goals and metrics goals while at the same time ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product. This position is to inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety; manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors; oversee all designated shift operations and any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the plant manager.
REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 5 plus years supervisory experience in poultry industry, will consider candidates in a meat processing facility; knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HAACP regulations. Experience with start-up a plus
Computer Skills: Above average Microsoft Office computer skills.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management as well as government officials.
Special Skills: Leader, problem-solver, team player.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; interview, hire, and train team members; plan, assign, and direct work; monitor and appraise work performance; reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members; address complaints and resolve problems.
Travel: 1-10 times/year
Other Requirements: Lead people by example; accept and delegate responsibility; display sound judgment and decision making skills; problem solve in an efficient manner with sound follow up; strong managerial skills necessary; excellent safety and attendance records. Ability to work with department heads to meet safety, production, and quality yields and meet goals.
