Associate Attorney needed for Washougal office

A law firm in Washougal, WA is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be immersed in the litigation process from suit initiation through trial. The firm welcomes both experienced attorneys and newly licensed attorneys. This role involves drafting and reviewing legal motions, preparing for trials and arbitrations, and managing court appearances. The candidate must be licensed in Washington State and should have the ability to travel to nearby counties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage immediately in the litigation process, from initiating suits through conducting trials.
• Draft, review, and file necessary motions throughout the litigation process.
• Prepare for trials and arbitrations as required by the firm.
• Communicate with clients, clients' employers, and clients' attorneys to resolve accounts and suits.
• Handle court appearances in nearby counties within a reasonable travel distance.
• Review new and ongoing legal pleadings and documents for accuracy prior to filing with the courts.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Washington.
• Additional licensing in states such as MO, IA, NE, ID, CA, FL, GA, OR, AK, or NV is welcomed but not required.
• Comfortable appearing in court and managing timely appearances using personal transportation.
• Ability to handle a high volume of work and meet deadlines consistently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice in the State of Washington.
• Additional bar admissions in other states are a plus.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Proficiency in drafting and filing legal motions.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, employers, and other attorneys.
• Ability to manage and prepare for trials and arbitrations.
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation for court appearances in nearby counties.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
