Associate / Senior Associate, Restructuring Tax Services
The candidate will support the team in advising public and private companies on restructuring tax issues, cancellation of debt income (CODI), significant debt modifications, consolidated attribute reduction, in-court vs. out-of-court restructuring arrangements, cash tax modeling, and Section 382 limitations. Conduct research and analysis on relevant tax code sections & regulations. Prepare & circulate summaries of relevant financial information on public and private companies. Build and maintain financial models & management presentations. Participate in discussions with Clients & their advisors. Support general business development as the practice continues to grow. Work closely with one or two members of the Restructuring Tax Services team and collaborate with clients, legal counsel, investment bankers, and other external parties. Serve as a core member of the practice and the group will depend on the ability to effectively handle pressure in a fast paced, deeply collaborative team environment. Work will directly contribute to the guidance delivered to senior management and other external parties to the restructuring process. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related analytical fields is required. Advanced Degree / Certification in CPA, MST, MAcc, J.D. or LL.M. is required. Strong interest in taxation and financial restructuring (e.g., Chapter 11 proceedings) is required.
