POSITION SUMMARY:

Fabric and Trim lead. A functional expert who will solely own all decision making with research, select and issue of PO’s for Fabrics and Trims in the New Product Ventures team.  

Owns, communicates and drives the New Product Ventures team fabric and trim strategy and framework with Supply RM, mills and suppliers. Owns and drives all delivery and leads the team to facilitate the hand off to supply teams.

Accountable for staying on the cusp of all latest innovation/trends and forging relationships and knowledge to push the New Product Ventures team and collaborators to explore and take risks in order to drive brand halo and business objectives set out and communicated by the New Product Ventures leadership team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

• Owns and leads the process for trims and fabric specific to New Product Ventures.
• Demonstrates agility and strategic thinking and recognizes when to lead and drive quick decision making or new team direction. 
• Leads the research, Selects and Purchases process of samples and production fabric and trims for special projects.
• Owns the Issuing of PO's for fabrics and trims allocated to Factories.
• Drives the Negotiating of order deliveries with the NPV team and associated partners.
• Forges relationships and contacts Mills and suppliers daily regarding deliveries and other topics - ​negotiates best prices and lead-times.
• Drives the process of collecting all fabrics and trims technical sheets, price break and delivery lead-times/Gathers all complete FDS valid for Production/C​hecks all technical performances, making sure that all details provided comply and meet or exceed the quality standard commercially required.
• ​I​identifies and drives any communication of potential issues for Supply and work with Mills, Fabric & Trim R&D teams to find solutions.
• Owns the budget for sample fabrics ensures it’s adhered to and raises red flags in cases where over budget situations may arise​.
• Manages and Organizes Fabric and Trim at Warehouses with the team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience:       

7-10 years of design or product development experience including strong knowledge of and experience in fabric development and research.

        

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Design (textile design preferred or equivalent work experience.

Skills:                    

• Outstanding knowledge and understanding of fabric properties and current trends, innovations and fabric market
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent presentation skills to internal and external partners
• Must be proficient in MS Excel Skills, MS Outlook/Word skills
• Strong computer skills, including excel, PLM, PDM or similar software
