Risk Management Assistant ECMCC
Duties: Assists in the coordination of the functions of the department, tracks status of litigation and legal documents, performs research and record keeping, maintenances databases, compiles and prepares reports, correspondence and materials for presentation. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Vice President of Patient Advocacy or higher level administrative employees. Supervision is exercised over lower level clerical employees. Assists in the set-up, monitoring and regulatory reporting of medical malpractice claims; Maintains medical malpractice loss run for submission to auditors and actuaries; Performs research, collection and submission of in-depth discovery for medical malpractice claims; Assists with the coordination of witness testimony for corporate litigation; Tracks, distributes and follows up on subpoenas issued to employees and the Corporation and court papers served to patients; Issues certificates of self-insurance plan coverage for general and/or professional liability and assists with litigation support; Prepares annual insurance applications for approval; Participates in preparing and maintaining records related to indemnity, disbursement accounting, general liability, litigation support, compliance, financial and statistical records, loss prevention initiatives, and Health Provider Network mandatory reporting; Coordinates communication and discovery of required Medicare reimbursements for Worker’s Compensation attorneys and Third Party Administrator; Works with various departments to develop new risk management programs; Assists in the compilation and development of policies and procedures; Provides routine technical assistance and acts in an advisory capacity on varied matters; Performs clerical support activities such as scheduling and attending meets, preparing materials for presentations, scheduling appointments, compiling and publishing risk management activities, purchasing and supply requisitioning and composing routine letters and correspondence.
