Job Summary
The Sr. AVD Engineer will work with the Unified Endpoint Management team to develop solutions for a consistent and secure client device experience for all employees and contractors. This role involves architecting and deploying new solutions to support secure virtual platforms for the business. The Sr. AVD Engineer will act as an SME within the engineering team and other functional areas to ensure the most efficient solution is crafted to meet business needs. This role requires a strong understanding of Azure cloud services and concepts supporting IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, as well as experience with IP Networking, Azure Firewall, and Azure Active Directory. The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Nerdio Manager, FSLogix, Azure Image Builder, Packer, Log Analytics/KQL, PowerShell, and Intune. Additionally, the Sr. AVD Engineer will mentor team members in relevant technologies and engineering solutions, exhibit excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

The Unified Endpoint Management team is responsible for the modern management platforms used to deliver business applications and secure all laptops, desktops and mobile devices across the enterprise. Partnering with various teams and organizations, we develop solutions to provide a consistent and secure client device experience for all employees and contractors. We are currently growing our team to help build out the enterprise Azure Virtual Desktop environment. The Sr. AVD engineer will work closely within a team of engineers to architect and deploy new solutions supporting secure virtual platforms for the business.
Core Responsibilities:
Acts as an SME within the engineering team and other functional areas to ensure the most efficient solution is crafted to meet business needs.
Gives to the overall platform implementation strategy for the enterprise and participates in appropriate forums, meetings, presentations etc. to meet goals.
Presents solutions to leadership, architecture, engineering, and operational support teams.
Ensures solutions are well engineered, scalable, maintainable, and delivered on schedule.
Tracks and documents requirements for platform projects and improvements.
Shown experience within the implementation, management, and support of Virtual Desktop environments.
Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and concepts supporting IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS including networking, compute, storage, subscriptions, and security.
Experience with IP Networking, VNet peering, Azure Firewall, and Azure Active Directory.
Strong expertise in the Azure Cloud - Security Domain.
Deep understanding of the cloud computing model, information risk and security guidelines and architecture standards and best practices.
Crafting, building, testing, automating, monitoring, and supporting components within a modern digital service platform in production environments.
Experience in crafting, administering, and maintaining Azure cloud resources specifically Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Virtual Network, Azure DNS, and API Manager.
Mentors team members in relevant technologies and engineering solutions.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
