Job Overview:

A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Aviation Finance Associate Attorney to join its New York-based finance practice. The ideal candidate will focus on aviation-related transactions, advising on a variety of financing, leasing, and restructuring matters. The firm’s aviation finance attorneys work with a broad range of clients, including banks, private equity firms, airlines, leasing companies, and manufacturers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-value transactions and become an integral part of a collaborative team.

Duties:

• Represent clients in aviation finance and leasing transactions, including lending, capital markets, leasing, trading, and restructuring matters.
• Draft and negotiate a wide array of complex legal documents, including credit agreements, indentures, leases, and purchase agreements.
• Advise clients on the interpretation of documents and regulatory matters, providing both written and oral guidance.
• Handle the management and execution of high-value financing transactions, often exceeding $100 million.
• Support clients in resolving aviation-related disputes and in establishing joint ventures or aircraft leasing platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders while managing multiple matters efficiently.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in aviation finance or related areas.
• Strong background in secured, unsecured, and guaranteed financing transactions, with expertise in the Cape Town Convention and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code.
• Experience in managing and closing large-scale financing transactions (typically $100+ million).
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex financial documents and contracts.
• Ability to provide expert legal advice to clients on aviation finance matters.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in New York.
