Director of e-Discovery and Litigation Technology
The candidate will oversee and provide strategic vision for the firm’s e-Discovery and litigation technology department. Provide high level support and strategic advice to lawyers, paralegals and other members of the firm, P.C.’s (“P&A”) team and its clients on all facets of electronic discovery in both state and federal litigation. Collaborate with clients and P&A lawyers and litigation support teams to assure all data collection efforts, ESI review and ESI production meet and exceed industry standards. Participate in creating and delivering in-house training on all phases of the EDRM process. Establish effective strategies for e-Discovery projects involving, among others, ESI preservation, litigation hold techniques, ESI collection, custodian interview techniques, the drafting of ESI protocols and related ESI court documents, early case assessment tools, ESI production, ESI review and other advisory services. Manage ESI for large, complex projects and many smaller, day-to-day projects. Assist in the design and execution of, and training for, ESI litigation and ESI discovery management and ESI best practices processes, protocols and procedures to be used across the firm. Educate P&A clients, internal counsel/staff on e-Discovery processes, workflows, and technologies. Provide support for web-based document review, Relativity workspace customization with corresponding review protocols, ESI stipulation analysis, and other related project review requirements. Mentor and lead as the P&A leader in establishing internal best practices for ESI management. Assist with testing new e-Discovery and litigation technology tools in the market to maximize the effectiveness of services provided to prospective and existing P&A clients. Develop and execute approaches to technology assisted review tools in litigation and investigation response. Partner with P&A Finance to complete project monthly invoices, forecasted and actual project budgets, and custom reports requested by P&A clients. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Will consider years of experience and/or certifications in lieu of Degree. Should have 10+ years of e-Discovery experience, including recent use of Relativity review software, 5+ years’ experience in utilizing Relativity Structured and Conceptual Analytics (Technology Assisted Review) including the ability to explain and educate clients and P&A staff on the benefits of such technologies. Should have 3+ years of day-to-day direct contact with client and/or client outside counsel with regards to workflow and strategic planning in e-Discovery and litigation technology. Relativity RCA Certification with 2–3 years’ experience is preferred. Relativity Analytics, or Relativity Project Management Specialist is preferred. Project Management of 5+ years dealing with complex matters working directly with client and client outside counsel is required. Should have 7+ years Project ESI Management experience. Proficient in Relativity workspace set-up, analytics, user set-up and group permissions, coding layouts, running complex keyword and dtSearch queries, privilege review, and workflow customization such as indexing, set-up of views, field/choices, persistent highlighting sets, etc. is required. Knowledge of underlying processes of EDRM (e.g. early case assessment, processing, productions, and review protocols) is required. Knowledge of AI tools for E-Discovery and litigation technology is required. Relativity 10.0 or higher is required. LexisNexis LAW Pre-Discovery 6.0 or higher is preferred. LexisNexis LAW Pre-Discovery certification(s) is preferred. Relativity Analytics is required. Next Point experienced is preferred.
