Director, Legal - Ventures
The candidate will lead drafting and negotiating definitive agreements, performing due diligence, and managing and closing venture capital and other investment transactions. Collaborate with and manage teams consisting of other in-house attorneys, personnel, and outside advisors (including outside counsel) on Ventures and investment matters. Advise and work closely with a variety of key stakeholders, including senior executives, Ventures, Risk, Compliance, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, Investor Relations, Communications, HR, and business functions. A JD degree with excellent academic credentials. Should have 9+ years of relevant experience in venture capital and other investment transactions. A combination of both in-house and law firm practice experience is strongly preferred. Experience with general corporate counseling, public offerings, and/or mergers and acquisitions is desirable. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills and a high level of EQ. Excellent project management skills, well organized, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure. A high level of intellectual, professional and interpersonal agility and flexibility, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively and effectively with business clients and other legal department members. Unquestioned ethics and integrity, sound judgment and a high tolerance for ambiguity.
