Extended Job TitleHSC Title IX CoordinatorOrg Level 1Texas Tech Univ Health Sciences Ctr Org Level 7101001 - President Lbk Position DescriptionThe Title IX Coordinator will have primary responsibility for monitoring and overseeing the University’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Violence Against Women Act, the Clery Act, and other applicable laws and regulations relating to sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, and sexual assault.   Develops and implements educational programs regarding sex discrimination and sexual harassment prevention, ensuring faculty, staff and students understand their rights and, where applicable, responsibilities under the law. Oversees and coordinates investigations, responses and resolutions to complaints. Collaborates with HSC entities and leadership to identify and address systemic problems.Requisition ID18438BROptional AttachmentsStatement of Vision or Purpose for the Position Travel RequiredUp to 25% Major/Essential FunctionsResponsibilities for the Title IX Coordinator position will include:Day-to-day application and review of university policies and practices as it relates to sex discrimination and sexual misconduct.Overseeing complaint procedures, including conducting investigations of and response to alleged violations of sex discrimination and sexual misconduct.Developing, implementing, and administering education and training programs on sex discrimination and sexual misconduct.Serving as a resource to answer questions and provide guidance about Title IX compliance and TTUHSC’s related policies and procedures.Administering and overseeing the university’s Title IX case management plan and complaint resolution process.Maintaining knowledge of current local, state, and federal law and regulations and trends in the field of education related to sex discrimination and sexual misconduct.Grant Funded?No Minimum Hire Rate4413.92Pay BasisMonthlyWork LocationLubbockPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated ability to build consensus and collaborate with a multitude of stakeholders.Ability to recommend and/or effect changes to policies, to revise practices and to implement equitable procedures across many departments.Strong knowledge of Title IX regulations and related federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to sex discrimination, sexual violence, and sexual harassment, including working knowledge of due process protections, the Clery Act, VAWA (Violence Against Women Act), and FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act). Demonstrated written and oral communication skills at a high level.Skill in developing and delivering training and education programs, workshops, and other presentations for small and large groups.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding in situations concerning sensitive matters.Ability to advise and consult University leadership on matters relating to sex discrimination and sexual misconduct.Ability to design and manage effective administrative processes.Ability to research, interpret and apply law and policy.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of academic and staff personnel and students.Skill in program development, including delineating goals and objectives, determining implementation steps and time frames, designing evaluation measures, and modifying designs and procedures to accommodate current organizational needs.Direct experience related to Title IX in the field of higher education.Capacity to oversee and conduct sensitive investigations, review investigation reports, and exercise judgment in making findings regarding whether violations of sex discrimination, sexual violence, or sexual harassment policy or law have been committed.Demonstrated ability to work independently with only general direction and to accept equivocal circumstances and take appropriate action where answers to a problem are not readily apparent.Demonstrates alignment with TTUHSC’s values: One Team, Kindhearted, Integrity, Visionary, and Beyond Service.
