We have a position available within Estates and Facilities for a Senior Cleaner on the main University of Plymouth City Centre Campus. Under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor as a senior member of the team, you will contribute to the delivery of a customer focused, cost effective and efficient cleaning service. You will need to ensure staff are clear on their part in delivering results and understand that through their activities each individual contributes to a positive student experience. You will need to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment, you may be assigned to other areas of the University to meet the needs of the service; this in turn will provide developmental opportunities in which to broaden your experience. Some flexibility in hours of work will be a requirement of this role including early mornings, evenings and some weekend working. You will hold an NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading or BICS (or equivalent or a willingness to achieve). You will have a good working knowledge of Mircosoft Word / Excel / Outlook / Power point and have an awareness of Health and Safety, including COSHH and Manual Handling. You will have a reasonable degree of physical fitness as you will be required to move, lift and carry equipment, supplies and waste bags on a daily basis. The ability to operate machinery appropriate to the post is also required. You will have effective customer service and possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The hours and locations may vary depending on the position appointed to and are subject to the business need, however currently we are looking to recruit cleaning staff to work on the following pattern: Monday to Friday, 06.00-10.00, 4 hrs per day, 20.00 hrs per week for 52 weeks per year.
