Managing Attorney, Property Management
The candidate will provide trustworthy legal advice to the functional areas of Property Management, Maintenance, Asset Management, Field Operations and Store Development in real estate related matters arising after store opening. Negotiate, draft, and review a wide variety of real estate documents, including but not limited to, commercial real estate contracts and applicable amendments, easement agreements, estoppels and non-disturbance and attornment agreements. Manage real estate disputes and litigation, including but not limited to, eminent domain matters and landlord-tenant disputes. Contribute to overall sales objectives by protecting company assets and ensuring stores operate in a manner consistent with corporate plan. Direct and assist a team of attorneys and a paralegal to enforce policies, procedures and to protect company real estate standards. Provide regular feedback, coaching, training, and other professional development to both team members and clients. Communicate expectations and supervise work of direct reports. Assist Director and assume duties of Director when it is necessary that he/she be absent. Stay abreast of current developments in Commercial Real Estate Law and assist in revising company policies, practices, and forms. A Doctorate degree (JD) in Law is required and active bar in Tennessee. Five to seven years of experience in real estate development, contract or corporate law. Firm or in-house experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Commercial Real Estate and Contracts.
