Summer Internship Program
The intern will work in the Georgia Medicaid Fraud Prosecution Unit. Interns will experience a wide variety of criminal and civil prosecutorial activities, including grand jury appearances and presentation of criminal indictments, drafting of civil complaints, review of medical records, legal briefing and analysis of the Georgia Medicaid Fraud False Claims Act, and settlement negotiations in multi-million dollar cases. In addition to real life lawyering experiences, interns will also have the opportunity to attend out of office events. These events may include prison tours and tours of the Public Safety Training Center and the Georgia Crime Lab. Rising third year law students who are currently enrolled in an accredited law school will be considered. Law students looking to gain experience in healthcare law, criminal practice, or civil procedure preferred. The program generally runs from the first week in June through the second week in August.
Stipend: $3000
