Our multi-billion dollar global client has retained us to find a Proactive, Financial and Operational Thought Leader, Impacting and Influencing business decision making, reliability & control, and analysis activities across the global corporation through direct and indirect reporting relationships.  Responsible for the Company’s financial accounting, reporting, budgeting and planning processes, assuring compliance with governmental regulation, US and foreign GAAP and Company’s accounting and control policies. This position is located in Central, NJ with superior future promotional potential there and elsewhere.

 

The successful candidate will:

Have upside potential and desire for further leadership roles within Company – Finance or Non-Finance

Open to Relocation under appropriate circumstances

Business or Finance undergraduate degree - preference for Accounting

CPA  required

10+ years accounting and planning experience with increasing levels of responsibility

Strong leadership and excellent communication skills needed

Open to travel requirement for connectivity to sectors and corporate resources

Displays strong Business Acumen and aptitude for Learning

Works well in the Company culture, similar values and approach, demonstrates respect for people

History of Impacting & Influencing business decisions

Hands on and into the details when necessary, but able to grasp as speak to big picture, Agility

Comfort with direct and indirect reporting relationships – effective at working in matrix setting

Leadership orientation – General Manager of the Accounting/Finance function (vs. an accountant)

International experience dealing with non-US businesses, statutory accounting

Aptitude and desire for continuous learning, reflection and improvement

 

Diverse leadership experiences in several organizations including consulting, public company;

manufacturing experience, Big 4 Accounting or large business Consulting Firm experience

 

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. In cooperation with division CFO’s and controllers, oversee the development and implementation of efficient and effective financial policies consistent with reliability and control objectives and US and foreign GAAP requirements – and supporting the company wide business strategies
  2. Oversee the Annual Operating Plan process for the Company.  Oversee the development of the corporate and shared service functional plans.
  3. Oversee the external financial and government reporting for the Company assuring compliance with all regulations. 
  4. Hire, train and develop finance team talent in support of principle responsibilities. Set priorities for the accounting team and broader finance organization, consistent with broad Company objectives, and execute to conclusion. 
  5. Monitor and anticipate the impact of pending changes in financial reporting regulations and GAAP that could have financial or operational impact on the Company and oversee adoption actions.
  6. Partner and manage all activities associated with the Company’s external audit process.
  7. Partner and manage activities as necessary with outside consultants such as actuaries and appraisal firms.
  8. Coordinate the monthly, quarterly and annual closes to ensure timely and accurate completion of each and that fiscal goals are being met.
  9. Oversee the monthly forecast process.
  10. Manage the internal financial reporting and analysis framework for the Company, including materials in support of business performance, external investor reporting, rating agency support, etc.
  11. Manage the Corporate Financial Planning and Reporting and Accounting functions
  12. Oversee financial modeling supporting Human Resource programs including incentives compensation and bonus plans, profit sharing, vacation liability, employee benefits and salary continuation. 
  13. Support the Capital Investment Strategy and Strategic Planning process.
  14. Manage the Shared Service Center of the Company, currently responsible for activities associated with payables, expense reporting, check generation.
