OverviewWe are seeking to fill the position of a Field MS Application Support Specialist covering the UK. As a High Resolution MS Application Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert scientific application support to Waters customers in the region and to ensure Waters maintains a highly successful user base in the market. Support will be provided at both customer sites and Waters demonstration laboratories.ResponsibilitiesOn site customer training and customer support of Q-TOF/Synapt UPLC-MS and UPLC-MS/MS systems and associated applications Day-to-day activities would involve:Customer training activities both on-site and remotely across the region (phone, e-mail, remote connection)Assisting with instrument demonstrations in Waters Regional MS lab, and running factory based training courses.Differentiate Waters as a unique Partner in the Instrumentation market place by providing technical expertise and Application support. Pre-sales technical support for Account Managers Presenting Waters products and workflow solutions at meetings, conferences and seminarsQualificationsA higher degree in a life science-related discipline (a degree and more industrial experience is also acceptable) A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience of developing and using Liquid Chromatography and time of flight mass spectrometry is required together with an analytical mindset and hands-on attitude. Knowledge of routine Biopharmaceutical applications would be of particular advantageKnowledge of Screening-, Metabolite identification-, Metabolomics-and Nanoflow LC would also be an advantage Hands-on experience of Waters MS software (MassLynx and UNIFI) would be advantageous The role depends upon effective relationships with both internal and external customers demanding that the individual should possess excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as being able to work effectively within a team environment. English language proficiency is required, additional languages would be advantageous. Hands-on experience of Waters’ LC-MS products and software (Masslynx and related application managers) would be an advantage. Interpersonally savvy and cool under pressure Has a strong customer focus and is capable of solving problems by using his/her listening skills Enjoys presenting and will use a sense of humour to make people feel at easeIs a quick learner and prioritises his/her time effectivelyIs regarded as a trustworthy person and culturally aware TravelTravel nationwide, spending several consecutive nights away from home as and when required. This person must also hold a current passport and be prepared to travel abroad not only during working hours but also occasionally at weekends.
