Bilingual Legal Assistant/Paralegal
The candidate will assist the attorneys with daily duties in the personal injury department handling the following types of cases: dog bites, maritime, on the job injuries, slip and falls, MVAs, etc. Duties will include, managing and working pre-litigation and litigation cases; talking to clients, court staff, opposing counsel, experts, medical providers, etc.; managing calendars; drafting demands, discovery requests, and responses, pleadings, expert designations, etc.; scheduling depositions, mediations, and trials; attending events as needed. Should preferably have a Bachelor’s degree. English and Spanish are preferred. A paralegal certificate and/or relevant educational background is a plus. Must have 1 year of law firm/legal experience, and have excellent writing skills. Must be a highly motivated, dependable, loyal, and outgoing individual. Should possess the traits of attention to detail, adaptability, problem solver, energy, and the ability to work independently and follow instructions. Should also have the ability to handle difficult situations with compassion and control.
