Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm based in New York City seeks an experienced Associate Attorney with a strong interest in intellectual property law, particularly in areas related to anti-counterfeiting and trademark/copyright infringement litigation. This role involves handling all phases of intellectual property litigation, from pre-suit investigations through trial preparation and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to significant cases within a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Manage a docket of cases involving trademark, copyright, and trade dress infringement in both federal and state courts.
• Conduct a thorough review and analysis of evidentiary materials to support case strategy development.
• Draft legal pleadings, including complaints, motions for temporary restraining orders, summary judgments, and post-judgment motions.
• Oversee and conduct all stages of discovery, including drafting and responding to written requests and motion practices.
• Participate in court conferences and represent clients in various hearings and trial proceedings.
• Take and defend depositions, assist in preparing witness testimonies, and support witnesses during trials.
• Prepare mediation statements, trial motions, and jury instructions as needed.
• Draft cease and desist letters, settlement agreements, and other related legal documents.
• Bring administrative trademark proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) when necessary.
• Participate in the civil seizure of counterfeit merchandise and assist with enforcement efforts related to trademarks, copyrights, and domain rights.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in intellectual property litigation.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
• Ability to travel when necessary.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Admission to the Southern District of New York (SDNY) and Eastern District of New York (EDNY) courts.
