Legal Intern, Free Expression
Responsibilities: Analyze state campus speech laws for compliance and tracking purposes. Analyze campus speech policies for consistency with applicable state law. Analyze student experience for consistency with campus speech policies (based on data gathered through survey responses or input from campus partners). Analysis will include data aggregation, developing a process for summarizing data to allow for comparison across states and colleges, and identifying gaps in the data. Determine what barriers (if any) were reported by campuses and any patterns present to help free speech advocates and campus officials moving forward. Assist Free Expression legal and policy team in strategy development. Assist the Free Expression legal and policy team to identify gaps and opportunities for future engagement.
