This position is responsible for the supervision and coordination of subordinate workers engaged in the procuring of goods and services such as equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising. In addition to the procurement of goods and services, this position supervises the organization and accountability of items procured in the warehouse by subordinate workers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ability to comply with American Proteins, Inc. normal work rules, policies and procedures described in the current version of the employee handbook
Reviews requisitions.
Confers with vendors to obtain product or services information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Assist in the selection of products for purchasing by testing, observing, or examining items.
Estimates product values according to knowledge of market price.
Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
Oversee the preparation of purchase orders and bid request.
Reviews bid proposals and oversees the negotiation of contracts within budgetary limits.
Oversees the maintenance of procurement records such as items or services purchased cost, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing materials and equipment.
Inspects warehouse inventory to ensure warehouse inventory is current.
Oversees the coordination of warehouse activities to ensure it is properly functioning.
Oversees the issuing of tools and equipment to ensure they are inspected and replaced when needed.
Establishes and adjusts work procedures in order to meet schedule demands.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, and assists workers in solving work problems
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Maintains time records.
Communicates and if necessary interprets Company policies to workers.
Enforces safety and quality assurance regulations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly supervises 6 or more hourly non-exempt, non-supervisor employees within the Warehouse and Purchasing Group. This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems within the Group.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative but not comprehensive of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or an applicable field from a four-year college; or two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience as determined by the Management Team.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret equipment manuals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports and similar internal business correspondence, and effectively present information to Management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in verbal, written, mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete concepts and variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must possess basic computer and office skills with the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software to adequately support business objectives within the Maintenance Department.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid state driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one. Must possess the ability to operate a forklift or pallet jack and the ability to obtain these licenses.

The Employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The Employee is occasionally required to sit. The Employee must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and in rare cases may be required to lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is routinely exposed to moving mechanical parts; routinely exposed to high, precarious places while equipped with proper safety and protective gear; routinely exposed to fumes or airborne particles while equipped with proper personal protective equipment (PPE); occasionally exposed to a risk of electrical shock while equipped with proper PPE; routinely exposed to moderate to strong vibration; routinely exposed to excessive noise levels requiring hearing protection; and routinely exposed to inclement weather conditions including but not limited to high humidity, rain, wind, extreme cold and extreme heat.
WORK SCHEDULE
The shift times are as follows:
Monday - Friday 08:00 am to 05:00 pm
At the discretion of Plant Manager additional working hours and working days including but not limited to alternative schedules may be required outside of these established timeframes to support plant operations and current business needs.
