The Walt Disney Company will launch a Disney-branded streaming service in 2019 featuring an incomparable collection of content from its brands and franchises recognized and respected all over the world. The Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) Service will serve as the exclusive home for viewing original movies, series, short-form, and more, along with a vibrant catalogue that spans classic Disney Animation to the most recent movie releases. We are seeking an experienced performance marketer for the position of Director, Paid Media Marketing. Working on the Disney DTC Service marketing team and part of the Disney Streaming Services team in New York, this individual will build and lead the paid media team responsible for driving subscriber growth to Disney's new DTC Service. The Director of Paid Media Marketing will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing full funnel media strategies to generate demand and adoption for the new service, leveraging key acquisition channels such as paid search, display, social, video, and audio. The ideal candidate has a passion for the digital media landscape and understands the intricacies and unique attributes of every step in the marketing funnel. The successful candidate will bring a highly analytical, creative, and flexible growth mindset to the role, which will be critical to delivering breakthrough thinking for the Service. Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of paid media marketing, from strategy to planning and execution, for the Disney DTC Service

Develop and implement strategies to drive subscriber acquisition, conversion, and efficiency through all paid channels, including paid search, display, social, video, and audio

Determine staffing needs and build a team to manage all aspects of paid subscriber acquisition

Build best-in-class programmatic marketing campaigns, leveraging agency and internal resources

Define KPIs, accurately forecast, and deliver insightful reporting on all campaigns

Develop robust test & learn plans, based on data and analytical insights, to improve performance throughout the conversion funnel

Optimize budgets across channels, tactics, and partners to deliver positive return on marketing spend

Partner with the brand and creative team to build campaign calendars and ensure creative needs for media planning and testing are met; provide regular feedback on creative performance and learnings

Partner with agencies & tech partners to lead overall cross-channel media planning efforts, identify appropriate audiences & create detailed media plans

Partner with Product & Design team and Data & Analytics to optimize the conversion funnel

Basic Qualifications:

Track record that shows you're ready to excel in meeting the extraordinary challenges of this role (this is likely 5 years of success in leadership roles building subscriber bases at scale)

Deep knowledge of and hands-on experience managing key digital platforms - Facebook Ads, Google AdWords, Apple Search Ads, DMPs, DSPs and other 3rd party vendors -- experience with offline channels a plus

Experience building full funnel marketing campaigns (demand through conversion), leveraging multi-touch attribution models

Highly analytical mindset with a deep understanding of acquisition funnel, economics and profitability levers

Ability to strategically assess opportunities and make data driven decisions resulting in tangible improvements in performance

Self-starting initiative, and comfort navigating white space

Proven track record of driving projects from conception through implementation (tech projects a plus)

Strong relationship management skills, due to the cross-functional and agency management responsibilities of the role

Demonstrated ability to articulate a vision and motivate, inspire, and challenge a high-performing team to achieve that vision

The ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate high impact marketing initiatives

Strong business aptitude, clear thinking and communicating, and great decision making

Confidence working in a fast paced and dynamic environment

A can-do, positive attitude and a strong desire to get things done

Obsession with making customers happy, and strong opinions about good customer experience

Analytical chops and know-how in building data-driven decision and measurement systems

Strong detail orientation, but talent for quickly zooming out with mastery of the big picture

Scrappiness and resourcefulness, no fear of getting your hands dirty, and an impulse to be the first to solve a problem

Preferred Qualifications:

Paid marketing experience in the context of an entertainment-based service

Experience operating within tech-based startup environments as well as large company, corporate environments

Personal affinity for the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney Company.
