The candidate will be responsible for drafting court pleadings, preparing other legal documents, basic legal research, and gathering and reviewing information for attorneys, including interviewing witnesses. Help coordinate hearing attendance and will be responsible for ensuring all the necessary paperwork has been provided to the agency attorney and filed with the court. Also responsible for developing and maintaining a tracking system for the receipt of documents necessary for court hearings, the filing of the necessary court documents, hearing dates and attendance at those hearings. Coordinating attorney calendars and drafting motions to continue, when needed. May assist with drafting regulations; writing appellate briefs; and summarizing case documents. An Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from an American Bar Association-approved program at an accredited college or successful completion of a program at an American Bar Association-approved paralegal institute is required. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Should have a working knowledge of the juvenile court system. Knowledge/experience with e-filing is needed.
