The candidate will collaborates closely with senior members (Dir/Sr Dir/VP) of PHC+ Teams to develop, create, partner and execute engagement strategies with key vendors, alliances and partner organizations. Oversees a dedicated team of 7-10 knowledgeable and highly skilled contract managers who collaborate with PHC+ partners to ensure alignment with Roches’ business strategy and ensure risks are effectively mitigated. Serves as the subject matter expert and subaward policy specialist responsible for overseeing RDC’s subrecipient risk assessment and monitoring policies and procedures. Provides administrative oversight to the team negotiating contracts, data use agreements, and other sponsored program related agreements. Knowledge Management- Educating and informing the Roche community on policies and procedures impacting the day to day management of research collaboration agreements. Leads special projects involving the implementation and change management of major policies and systems related to research collaborations and research data. Maintains RDC’s policies and procedures regarding incoming and outgoing data use agreements, especially as relates to sponsored projects. May assists the relevant Proposal Team in reviewing proposals for compliance with Roche policies, identifying and resolving problematic terms and conditions and issues unique to collaborations. Liaises with multiple compliance and legal offices to ensure contracts accurately convey terms of collaboration and protect Roche’s interests. Maintains a library of agreements and clauses for unique collaboration situations. Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or relevant postgraduate Scientific Degree are required. 7-10 years in contracting or pharmaceutical alliance work are required. 10+ years' experience in complex contract negotiation, including the review and negotiation of various types of R&D collaborations, alliances and sponsored programs agreements are required. Must have strong understanding of Business strategies. Proven success in partnering on strategic initiatives and working with senior level partners. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and administrative abilities. Strong negotiation skills. Excellent understanding of Fair Market Value (FMV), Privacy and other key contracting areas. Collaborative, results-oriented individual with the capacity to take responsibility and be accountable for meeting deadlines, prioritizing, working under pressure and understanding and respecting the needs of a wide range of divergent interests. Must be exceptionally responsive, able to work independently, interactively and collaboratively with Business representatives, research staff, administrators, and external institutions and Health Care Providers (HCPs). Must be able to lead/inspire team and partners. An innovative, self starter who is results oriented. Issue spotting and solutions-oriented, able to coach and influence. Multidisciplinary experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and administrative abilities. Collaborative, results-oriented individual with the capacity to take responsibility and be accountable for meeting deadlines, prioritizing, working under pressure and understanding and respecting the needs of a wide range of divergent interests.
