Our team works on-site 9x80 schedule located at our REC facility with every other Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:

Lead the development of tools and capabilities in support of modeling, simulating, and visualizing critical infrastructure and how these assets may inter-relate and their associated threats, both cyber and physical.

Leverage computer languages, machine-learning, and statistical analysis as needed to solve complex critical infrastructure challenges. As a senior member of the team, they will develop requirements, produce and test designs or test plans, and provide vital documentation to modify, improve, or build enhanced models and simulations of infrastructure systems.

Mentor junior employees on standard methodologies and ensure technical excellence in their given teams.

Define system specifications, prepare project time and cost estimates, design, analyze, test, modify, document, and maintain complex models or simulation-based systems.

Work with an experienced team to provide reviews of requirements, designs, visualization options, codes and documentation.

Participate in the development of new capabilities and products.

Set and implement high standards for safety, security, environmental compliance, and Mission Delivery, and lead all aspects of successful project/program execution consistent with INL’s standards and procedures to identify and mitigate risk (cost, schedule and quality).

Foster new concept development and provide technical interface with numerous customers for INL programs. Maintains and enhances cognizance and reputation in chosen technical field.

Minimum Requirements:

PR0400; Baccalaureate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent and 8 years of validated experience.

Demonstrated experience developing software tools and an ability to apply these tools in the support of modeling and simulating critical infrastructure.

Individuals must have a working knowledge of and experience with the following software and tool development approaches and practices:

Demonstrated experience developing software in Go, Python, C

Experience acting as a technical lead over a team of developers.

Experience implementing DevOps pipelines to ensure proper automated build and testing controls.

Demonstrated experience working with the design and development of relational (MSSQL, Oracle, Postgres) or non-relational databases (MongoDB, Neo4J, OrientDB, etc.).

Special preference given to the following:

Web Development experience including JavaScript/TypeScript and developing/consuming REST services.

Experience with ICS Cybersecurity and developing related security software.

Experience with Department of Energy and the National Laboratory Complex

Experience working with Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) contracts.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance and SCI, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information

PR0400 - Salary Grade 230 ($121,212 - $206,232)
