Senior Director, People M&A
The candidate will evaluate potential acquisitions by supporting due diligence projects ensuring the reliability of information provided by potential acquisition targets and producing analysis suitable for leadership, as needed. Oversee all project plan related activities, including defining and managing end-to-end project plans for high-profile acquisitions in partnership with working teams, acquired entities (where applicable) and Leadership with clear communication of outcomes, and responsibilities. Define and articulate responsibilities of project team to ensure there is a clear understanding of how each role relates to the overall strategy and workstream priorities. Identify dependencies and offer recommendations on how to best sequence work based on objectives and resource availability including People risks. Monitor progress of project plan tasks against commitments to ensure all requirements, deadlines and schedules remain on track and within budget, escalating risks and seeking guidance from Leadership, as needed. Manage standard protocols/processes to establish consistency and drive effective implementation across all workstreams, i.e. develop and refine key M&A artifacts, such as: Day 1 Checklists, Welcome Letter Templates, Employees FAQs. Estimate and create Acquisition and Integration budgets. Manage effective communication channels to keep all stakeholders informed, raising risks or challenges and celebrating wins. Interface with key partners/stakeholders and serve as the primary point of contact for the workstream/acquired entity/project team. Partner with cross functional teams beyond the People to support Integration activities (Compliance, IT, Legal, Finance). Be the ‘glue’ that holds the project together. Represent the People function in key cross-functional workstreams (Legal Entity Review, Internal Audit Review, etc.). Create materials for M&A recurring meetings (Steering Committee, Integration Management Office, People PMO, etc.). Should have 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or 3+ years of work experience with a PhD. Should preferably have 12+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD. Should have 7-12 years of experience managing People M&A related activities. Expertise in program project management with financial and budget management experience in a transformation environment. Should have the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles. Entrepreneurial and flexible, strategic thinker who can balance strategy with detailed execution is needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex information into a compelling narrative, and in a variety of formats (ex. presentations, talking points, executive summaries, etc.) Keen eye for process improvement and operational efficiency is needed. Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills in a global, matrixed environment with cross-functional teams. Should be self-starter, results oriented individual with the ability to “roll up their sleeves” and handle numerous projects concurrently. Should have the ability to anticipate issues before they arise and work to proactively support resolution. Should have proven track record of driving results, even when faced with ambiguous circumstances. Exceptional personal accountability and the highest of ethical standards are needed. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are needed.
