Our current opportunity is on our Austin, Texas-based Crimson team.
A division of The Advisory Board Company, Crimson is an Austin, Texas based software development company whose primary focus is combining business intelligence technologies, proven implementation strategies, and an agile startup mentality to deliver solutions for managing a health care system's performance. Crimson's enterprise web-application products are developed in partnership with health systems and physicians who are seeking to better align their operational & strategic goals with care quality and prevention. We provide comprehensive products for managing physician quality across a health system, improving patient care, clinical practice management, reducing patient population's health risks, and driving physician referrals. Our products are currently deployed at more than 700 hospitals, engaging more than 200,000 physicians nationwide, and analyzing data for more than 35 million patients.
As a Software Engineering Manager (or Dev Manager) on the team, your responsibility is to ensure that your team delivers a high-quality product amidst the constant change in our fast-growing environment. You will be responsible for hiring, inspiring, and working together with a global team of talented software engineers. You will need to have great hands-on skills whether it's debugging complex technical issues, working with your team on whiteboard design sessions or looking for ways to make the applications scale. Though the role includes team management responsibilities, this is not primarily a project or HR manager position.
Job Responsibilities:
Deliver high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly
Serve as design lead for a Crimson product, while working with User Experience team to create excellent products
Work with product management to determine priorities and create technical solutions
Hire, coach, manage, and mentor a team of geographically distributed software engineers
Basic qualifications:
5 years of software development experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent technical experience
3 years of experience with development languages such as Java, C#, or JavaScript
Ideal qualifications:
1 years of management experience for a small team of software engineers
Past experience in building a software product from the ground-up to production
Experience in code optimization and performance tuning
Ability to act as an architect to lead the team to build new and innovative solutions
Demonstrated experience delivering multiple releases within an agile environment
Experience working in highly interactive partnership with product management team
Experience developing mobile applications
Interest or experience working in start-up culture
Experience working in healthcare
