A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a Mid-Level Digital Risk Advisory and Cyber-Security Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience. The ideal candidate will focus on proactive and reactive privacy and data protection compliance matters, including advising on data security incidents, regulatory investigations, and compliance with contractual and legal obligations related to security. This role requires a robust privacy and cybersecurity background, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on compliance with privacy and data protection, including state, federal, and international regulations.
• Guide data security incidents, including breach response, notification obligations, and mitigation strategies.
• Represent clients in regulatory investigations related to privacy and security.
• Assist in drafting and negotiating contracts on privacy and data protection obligations.
• Manage complex projects and cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Collaborate with technical teams to understand and address cybersecurity concerns and forensic investigations.
• Communicate complex privacy and cybersecurity issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay current with developments in data privacy and security laws and regulations.
• Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base and best practices in privacy and cybersecurity.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in privacy and data protection law, focusing on cybersecurity.
• Proven experience advising on privacy and security obligations and handling data security incidents.
• Experience defending clients in regulatory investigations related to privacy and security.
• Law firm or in-house experience with privacy and cybersecurity breach response or litigation is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
