Job Overview: An exciting opportunity is available for a Project Finance Associate to join a leading law firm's Energy and Infrastructure Practice Group. This position is based in New York, with consideration given to candidates in Washington, DC, and Houston. The ideal candidate will have experience in project finance, development, and structured financings in the energy and infrastructure sectors. However, candidates with leveraged finance or other finance backgrounds are also encouraged to apply. The firm’s clients include major corporations, private equity firms, institutional investors, and financial institutions.

Location:

Duties:

• Advise clients on project finance and development matters, with a focus on limited recourse and structured financings in the energy and infrastructure sectors
• Work with a wide range of clients, including corporations, private equity firms, institutional investors, and financial institutions
• Draft and review agreements, financing documents, and related materials
• Engage in the negotiation and structuring of complex finance transactions
• Collaborate with other practice areas within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services
• Provide strategic advice to clients regarding risk, financing structures, and project development
• Contribute to the development of client relationships and business opportunities

Requirements:

• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in project finance, development, or structured finance transactions
• Strong background in energy, infrastructure, or leveraged finance is a plus
• Exceptional academic credentials and law firm experience
• Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction where the position is based
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to handle complex, multi-faceted transactions

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the jurisdiction where the position is based
