Director, Health Construction Contracts - Design and Construction-Capital
Duties: Responsible for providing leadership in the areas of Risk Management, Contract Administration, Strategic Planning, Policy Implementation and Training as they relate to UC Contracting Policy and Procedures and Contracting Policy for a private Healthcare Organization. Work with Senior Leadership, Internal Audit, and consultants to develop, implement and manage compliance policies and procedures relating to internal controls, UCOP construction contract policies and industry standards for construction contracts relating for health care organizations. Work with the Vice President of Major Capital, the Executive Director of Health Design & Construction, the Director of Project Delivery for Health and Director of Design and Construction for Hospital to determine the best contract delivery method for the capital project portfolio. Contracting methods may include: Design Build, Integrated Project Delivery, CM@Risk, Cost Plus, Lump Sum and Best Value. Contracts will be complex and exceed $60M - $85M annually. Provides strategic guidance in setting policies and procedures related to function or program. Provides broad guidance and policy advice to department management and senior leadership regarding aspects of contract administration, and receives guidance as required from Office of General Counsel. Ensures contract administration includes review of potential risk, consequences of policies and legislation, and adherence to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, and policies. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of department, division, or organization.
