Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Denver, CO, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Immigration Attorney to join their team. This firm is known for its compassionate approach to providing legal services, particularly within the immigrant community. As an Immigration Attorney, you will work in a dynamic and supportive environment that values community involvement and making a meaningful impact through the practice of law.

Duties:

  • Conduct initial client consultations and evaluate their legal needs.
  • Manage and oversee immigration cases from initiation to resolution.
  • Prepare and file Humanitarian Visas (U Visas, T Visas, VAWA).
  • Defend clients in removal proceedings, including attending bond hearings, master calendar hearings, and individual hearings.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as petitions, motions, and briefs.
  • Work closely with paralegals to ensure efficient case progression and timely submission of documents to USCIS.
  • Provide clients with regular updates on the status of their cases.
  • Collaborate with managing attorneys to discuss case strategies and progress.
  • Prepare appeals, motions to reconsider, and motions to reopen for ongoing cases.
  • Participate in community outreach by conducting “Know Your Rights” presentations.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is essential.
  • Admission to practice law in Colorado.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an immigration attorney.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills, with Lexis-Nexis experience preferred.
  • Excellent trial skills with experience in immigration court procedures.
  • Ability to meet monthly billing targets.
  • Willingness to conduct community outreach and client education.
  • Hybrid position requiring at least 2 days per week in the office.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Colorado.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, including removal defense and humanitarian visas.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Client-focused, with a dedication to providing compassionate legal services.
