Our Tax Team is on a journey to build and enhance capabilities in order to align with our business\u2019 needs and support our organization. Our work will drive profitable growth, mitigate risk and enable us to support innovation for the enterprise.
In this role, you will be a key member of the federal and state tax team, responsible for supporting tasks relating to federal, state and local planning initiatives and audits. You will play a key role in researching and analyzing tax technical items. Further, in this role, you will also assist with the tax provision and federal, state and local compliance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform research and complete legislative analysis for federal and state tax matters
Provide analysis and information required in tax planning activities when such matters arise
Assist with responses to federal and state tax notices, audits and other tax-related correspondence
Analyze accounting books and records to determine tax issues and recommends solutions based on findings
Maintain complete and accurate records and workpapers for all projects completed to support the tax filings, including documenting procedures for tasks completed where required
Prepare technical memoranda documenting analysis and conclusions
Assist with additional federal and state tax projects as needed
Support SOX and operational control testing for the Tax function
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor\u2019s degree in tax, accounting, economics, or related fields required
2-3 years minimum of combined public accounting, corporate income tax accounting or law firm experience
Basic knowledge of tax compliance and accounting
Ability to extract, analyze, and review data
Independently perform tax research
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail with trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
Operate independently in a fast-paced environment
Prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline focused, dynamic environment
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree (MBA, MBT, JD, LLM) or certification (CPA, CFA, etc.) highly desired
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP principles
Understanding of tax technical, analytical and compliance skills and experience, including process and internal controls
Use tax tools, applications and relevant financial systems
Stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate complex tax technical topics to non-tax stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional business partners
