Our office is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Paralegal to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our attorneys and ensuring the efficient management of legal cases. You will work closely with Attorney James L. Arrasmith and the legal team to assist with case preparation, document drafting, legal research, and client communications. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with extensive experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping clients achieve successful legal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Case Management:

  - Manage a high volume of legal cases from start to finish across multiple practice areas (Family Law, Estate Planning, Probate, Personal Injury, Landlord-Tenant, Social Security Disability).

  - Maintain accurate and organized case files, including tracking deadlines, court dates, and client communications.

  - Facilitate case preparation, including gathering evidence, preparing exhibits, and drafting necessary legal documents.

- Legal Research & Document Preparation: 

  - Conduct in-depth legal research on various issues related to ongoing cases, including state and federal laws.

  - Draft, review, and edit pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery responses, and other legal documents.

  - Prepare trial briefs, summaries, and case presentations in collaboration with attorneys.

- Client Interaction: 

  - Serve as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication and providing updates on case progress.

  - Assist clients with document preparation, respond to inquiries, and ensure clients are informed of case developments.

  - Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with sensitive client matters.

- Court Filings & Compliance: 

  - Prepare and file court documents, both electronically and in-person, ensuring compliance with filing requirements and deadlines.

  - Manage correspondence with courts, opposing counsel, and third parties.

- Administrative Support: 

  - Assist attorneys with day-to-day administrative tasks including scheduling, calendar management, and meeting coordination.

  - Supervise and mentor junior paralegals or administrative staff, ensuring efficient workflow and case management.

Qualifications:

- Experience:

  - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, ideally with a focus on multiple practice areas including Family Law, Estate Planning, Probate, and Personal Injury.

  - Prior experience in a law firm or legal environment is essential.

- Education:

  - Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent legal experience.

  - Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or related field preferred.

- Skills:

  - Proficiency in legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar tools.

  - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.

  - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  - Ability to handle a large caseload and manage competing priorities.
