Position Summary:
Assists physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel in caring for diagnosing, and treating patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities by applying therapeutic, preventive, and diagnostic procedures.

Requirements:
Active license to practice Respiratory Care through the Board of Respiratory Care (KBRC) required; CRT credentialed from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs., sit, walk, stand extensively and be able to perform fine and gross motor skills. Physical coordination, mobility, verbal articulation, vision, and learning must be easily performed. May be exposed to blood, body tissue and fluids regularly, as well as other hazardous waste materials. Must be able to tolerate environmental temperature fluctuations. May be exposed to radiation, toxins, dust, cytotoxins, and/or poisonous substances. May be exposed, periodically to physical injury, burns, noise, and some electrical hazards.
Working Relationships:
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible to the Respiratory Care Supervisor and does not supervise any other employee. They are in daily contact with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other employees.
Language:
Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.
