Currently, all Tyson Team Members and facility visitors must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. It will be a requirement to confirm vaccination status prior to entering the facility.

Tasks

The essential functions of this job include, but not limited to: Performs mechanical refrigeration duties and makes adjustments and repairs. Manually grease, change oil, and clean various plant equipment. Monitors equipment and computer boards. Troubleshoots mechanical problems using detailed schematics and blueprints. Works closely with other refrigeration and maintenance personnel in order to receive and pass along information concerning the job. Performs preventative maintenance on weekends. Must be able to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must become a HAZ-MAT member and pass the required level for HAZ-MAT. Must pass pulmonary function test and able to wear a SCBA/Full face mask. This position works in a cold, damp, hot and humid environment with slippery surfaces. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing pulling and reaching are required to include work on ladders. Must be able to lift 70 lbs. on a daily basis and be able to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours, 7 days a week, if required. Must be able to work other shifts when necessary. Must comply with OSHA Standards and Regulations. Use of proper tools for operating maintenance equipment. Must be able to travel for training.

Requirements

Refrigeration or HVAC experience preferred. Must be able to work safely to ensure proper usage of ammonia and other equipment. Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends. EPA Universal Certification, RETA CARO certified preferred.
