Associate Director of International Law Programs and Student Affairs

Duties: Have logistical and on-the-ground oversight of the Law School’s current study abroad programs in Curacao, Italy, an Immigration Law program, and the Semester Exchange Program as well as potential new programs. Additionally, manage aspects of the Master of Laws (LL.M) program in American Legal Studies for non-US lawyers and work closely with current students in an advisement capacity. Assist the Office of Enrollment Management in screening applicants. Develop, coordinate, implement, and assess new student orientation programming focused on the support and transition of international students to academic and campus life. Advise students on all aspects of study abroad and global learning experiences, including administrative and academic policies, application procedures, and financial aid. Develop a strong and communicative working relationship with partners in the International Students Office. Work with University partners to support new students' transition to campus and their continued intercultural learning. Serve as an advisor and advocate for international and marginalized student populations, as well as an advisor to all the affinity/diversity organizations in the development of their goals and programming for each academic year. Provide individual support to students in their academic, social, leadership, and identity development and provide advocacy and support. Work with the Dean of Students and Diversity and Inclusion Officer to lead advocacy efforts to address campus climate issues influencing diverse populations of students, including international and U.S. students, students of color, LGBTQA+ students, first-generation and/or low-income students, and cultural organizations. Help develop recommendations, in partnership with relevant offices, to improve campus experiences for students. Work with all Law School departments in the planning of school-wide Diversity awareness programming and aid in the development and furtherance of the Law School’s commitment to diversity.
