Consults with clients on a regular basis to maintain business relationships. Obtains new clients' business on an ongoing basis. Advises clients concerning business transactions, the advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations. Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations. Analyzes the probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents. Initiates and responds to legal actions. May present and summarize cases to judges and juries in controversial situations. Travels as required by client and case location. Maintains the firm's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. Contributes to the firm by accomplishing related results as needed. Must have a JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Current Texas and/or New Mexico bar membership desired. Willingness to ultimately become licensed in Texas and New Mexico preferred.
