Responsibilities: Provide critical support to General Counsel and the business in reviewing, assessing, and commenting upon business and employment strategies and materials within the context of the Company’s overall labor relations strategies; maintaining, updating and summarizing the Company’s database and portfolio of Collective Bargaining Agreements including managing and monitoring compliance with Company obligations and reporting deadlines; managing requests for information, document productions, and subpoena compliance and working to assist in preparation for or during collective bargaining, grievance meetings, arbitrations and litigations; reviewing, assessing and commenting upon vendor agreements and employment related documents; and providing independent insight and review of legal department policies, forms and practices to improve the department’ operations and the division as a whole; all of the foregoing while identifying and escalating key issues for attorney review and input. Will interact with a wide range of senior business leaders on a variety of subjects, work with and balance the priorities of General Counsel, while managing an important portfolio of assignments and self-supervised work. Provide leadership with minimal supervision of General Counsel in assisting with the management of labor related issues, including the administration and interpretation of the Company’s Collective Bargaining Agreements (“CBAs”), and communication strategies to ensure and facilitate good labor relations. Maintain and manage Collective Bargaining Agreements database; tracking deadlines and ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements. Prepare, review and/or gather materials needed or requested to facilitate the Company’s collective bargaining, grievance administration and arbitration responses. Take, maintain and organize detailed comprehensive notes of Company Collective Bargaining sessions. Review and revise employee corrective actions involving represented employees to insure clear and concise language, highlighting key issues for attorney review, and managing compliance to ensure appropriate communications take place from the appropriate Company source to Union representatives. Takes measures to foster and promote management’s direct relationship with its employees including, assisting in the preparation, drafting and revision of campaign related materials and providing a management presence in the oversight of NLRB elections. Conducts and/or prepares materials for training programs regarding legal and labor related issues, inclusive of serving as point for ATS on Record Management and Retention matters consistent with Company policy. Respond to subpoenas and requests for information, with minimal supervision, including identification, collection, review and preparation of documents for production. Prepare litigation hold notices; assist with discovery and coordinates with outside counsel to provide relevant company documents and information; schedule and coordinate witness interviews, depositions and court appearances; assist, if requested, in witness interviews and investigations. Prepare, review or revise vendor agreements and labor and employment related documents or communications to insure clear, concise language, and to highlight, spot and raise key issues requiring attorney review and input. Work with labor and legal teams on issues of execution and governance, and the coordination of legal issues and litigation matters, as necessary. Such other responsibilities and duties as may be assigned by General Counsel for the benefit of the legal department and/or the business from time to time.
