JOB SUMMARY

Develops and implements company security-related services for company managed properties or facilities. Works independently to manage market level security operations including supervision of property level security managers. Has direct responsibility for budget management of market security operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assesses quality and efficiency of security operations. Makes recommendations concerning any changes to personnel and procedures in order to provide maximum security.

Works directly with security vendors to ensure contract adherence and that Client standards are maintained. Ensures quarterly security KPI's are met between CBRE and the Client. Coordinates Client security initiatives with CBRE and vendor staff.

Provides oversight and guidance to CBRE Facility Managers in the field for security related issues and concerns.

Escalates incidents to appropriate Client security leaders.

Understands and trains CBRE staff on Client security requirements. Ensures all Security Managers have established operational procedures as outlined in the CBRE Security and Life Safety Manual.

Acts as liaison between Real Estate Managers and Client Security Leaders on formulating policies, coordination of programs, handling personnel issues, and directing security budgets.

Prepares emergency responses to large scale incidents in area and helps facility managers in directing emergency operations at buildings while in emergency status. Works with the property management and advises client security leadership and line of business leadership on emergency situations.

Advises on construction of physical space with regards to specific security needs.

Establishes and maintains relationships with local and national law enforcement officials and keeps abreast of intelligence information to promote a secure environment for clients, tenants, and properties.

Supervises investigations regarding thefts and personnel issues and approves appropriate reports.

Works with human resources manager in handling issues related to security personnel. Acts as consultant to human resources on other security related issues.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the planning, organization, and controls for a major functional area or department. May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college in Criminal Justice or Business Related field and 10 years previous experience in security management or law enforcement command. Experience in handling contracts and budgeting preferred.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Meets local or national security staff certification requirements. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to handle complex situations during extreme stress, make informed, responsible and quick decisions to ensure the best possible outcome for the clients, tenants and properties. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an advanced knowledge of Word Processing software; Excel spreadsheet software and Internet software.

Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
