The candidate reviews of legal invoices to ensure that the fees and expenses are necessary, reasonable and in compliance with billing guidelines. Supports management of legal representation services performed by law firms representing the company and or its insureds for specific departments or business units and is accountable with the rest of the team for the resulting business financial and service quality impacts. Functions as a service liaison between brokers, insureds and claimants, and the professional staff by providing necessary administrative support to allow Claims Analysts/Claims Specialists to focus on evaluating and setting claims. Serves as back-up to the Claims Administration Supervisor and supports other claims offices as needed Performs a wide variety of other metric collection and data analysis activities. Reviews and analyzes legal bills for reasonableness and ensure compliance with billing guidelines, industry standards and business rules to ensure payment of only reasonable and necessary charges. Adjusts invoices in the system and manually as appropriate and makes recommendations regarding billing issues which arise. Meets production and quality guidelines. Reviews internal claim systems for claims detail. Communicates with claim professionals to determine prior authorization or exception approval, and researches and resolving customer inquiries and reconsideration of appeals. Participates in special projects as assigned. Coordinates schedules for Legal and Claim Audits. Gathers relevant information and documents, compiles data to compose, edit, revise, tabulate and print letters, tables, reports and other materials. Provides recordkeeping support as needed. Processes incoming wire transfers as needed. Provides daily work oversight in support of Claims Supervisor and Professional Staff. Assists in problem solving all clerical processes and coding entries. Assists in Vendor Payment Allocation across applicable claim files. Assists with coordination of projects and special assignments such as audit preparation. Should have 2+ years of law firm, bill review or claim experience. Experience with attorney billings is a plus. E-Billing experience is a plus. General office experience is preferred. Paralegal Certification or relevant experience is required.
