Job Overview:

A law firm in Portland, OR, is seeking a dedicated and skilled General Liability Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general liability and insurance defense and be committed to delivering exceptional legal services and achieving favorable outcomes for clients.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft detailed status reports and client analyses.
• Prepare substantial briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients regularly at hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Collaborate with and retain expert witnesses as necessary.
• Prepare for and attend trials.
• Travel as needed for case-related matters.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in General Liability.
• Insurance Defense experience is a plus.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to practice in Washington and Oregon; admission in other states, such as Idaho or Utah, is a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Solid work ethic with the ability to self-manage and work effectively in a team environment.
• Prompt response to e-mail and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client interaction skills and telephone manners.
