Account Services Representative (Collections)
The candidate is responsible for making collection calls and all duties pertaining to statement of accounts. Obtains credit reports and analyzes payment plans. Will provide backup for other accounting functions. Observes confidentiality of client and firm matters. Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Determines status of client payments on a monthly basis. Contacts clients according to established firms procedures and makes appropriate comments in the collections systems. Maintains a calendar to do list. List should be reviewed and addressed on a weekly basis. Emails copies of bills requested by clients and attorneys in a timely manner. Reports all special projects requested by clients and attorneys to the Accounts Receivable Manager. Handles previously-approved payment plans for respective offices. Sends thank you letters every month and calls if payment has not been received for 2 months. Reviews electronic billing system for status of invoices when they reach 90 days if not already handled by the assigned biller. Reviews electronic billing systems for justification on short payments and reports to attorney to resolve. 8. Assists with the backup of Cash Receipts and their responsibilities on an occasional basis. Assists Accounts Receivable Manager as required. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required: Knowledge of accounts receivable and/or finance. Technical skills in account reconciliation, credit extensions, payment plans, etc. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, and staff. Provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
