Since 1919, Kennedy/Jenks Consultants has provided engineering, scientific, and construction solutions to municipal agencies, businesses, and industrial facilities. With offices serving clients throughout the United States, we provide consulting services nationwide. We are seeking qualified candidates for the senior leadership position of Washington Operations Manager for our Water Infrastructure Business Unit. The position can be located in either our Seattle or Federal Way Washington offices.

What you’ll be doing:

The Operations Manager is responsible for successfully driving the business forward through proactive leadership and collaboration. The Operations Manager is responsible for management of staff in the Washington Water Infrastructure Business Unit, leading a profitable operation, and for being externally focused and active in the market place. This leadership role requires close coordination with the Client Director assigned to the Washington market.

Characteristics of this position include a proven ability to inspire teamwork, deliver projects on time and budget, manage professional staff, and sustain sales and revenue from local municipal engineering projects. Other responsibilities include:

Achievement of profitability metrics including revenue volume and net labor multiplier for projects in Washington and utilization of staff under supervision.

Providing mentorship and career development guidance for staff under supervision.

Act as a point of contact and coordinator for business development, pursuit leadership, service delivery, and client engagement for a set of local clients.

Lead and actively participate in preparation for proposals and interviews. Motivate and engage a team of peers to assist with strategic pursuits.

Serve as a technical resource and senior project manager (approximately 30% to 60% billable goal depending on interests) and perform duties associated with these roles.

Promote Kennedy/Jenks Consultants through exposure at regional and national conferences and committees.

What you’ll need:

Ideal candidates will have strong planning, design, management, and business development experience with local municipal water and wastewater agencies. We have a strong project delivery team and your leadership and entrepreneurial spirit will be critical to providing superior service to both our existing and future clients. We seek individuals with 10 years of experience, which includes business development and client services experience with municipal agencies in King, Snohomish and Pierce Counties and a demonstrated track record of sales and revenue within the local marketplace. A PE license and related engineering degree(s) are desired.
